Triumph’s passion for racing has seen many collaborations over the years. From Isle of Man TT race and Daytona 200 victories to providing the engines for Moto2™, breaking lap records with unequalled reliability ever since, the quest for success has never stopped.
Working in partnership with the best has ensured Triumph’s success and longevity and this philosophy and single-minded approach to winning now extends to world-class motocross.
Working from a new, state-of-the-art, multi-million dollar testing and training facility near Atlanta, Georgia, Triumph Racing - USA is led by some of the biggest names in motocross. Together with a Triumph Racing team in Europe, and key engineering and design work undertaken at Triumph HQ in Hinckley, all three teams of the project have worked as a single-minded collective over the past four years to achieve the end result: a motocross machine built to win races at the highest level.
The greatest racer in the history of the sport is the lead development rider. With 15 world championships (10 MX, 5 SX) and 150 career wins (102 MX, 48 SX) to his name, and known by many simply as ‘the GOAT’, Ricky Carmichael needs little introduction.
Renowned for his extraordinary ability on and off the bike, Carmichael’s analytical approach to testing and development, together with a deep knowledge of the sport and a grasp of the almost unquantifiable elements that make the difference between winning and losing, there was no better choice.
The team of engineers behind them is no less impressive. Bobby Hewitt and Stephen ‘Scuba’ Westfall join the Triumph Racing Team as Team Principal and Team Manager respectively, a pairing with huge experience working together and with the biggest names and manufacturers in the sport over the past 20 years, enjoying success at the highest level.
The USA-based Triumph Racing Team will take on the challenge of the Supercross World Championship (SX). The Belgium-based Monster Energy Triumph Racing Team, run by the vastly experienced Thierry Chizat-Suzzoni and Vincent Bereni, both of whom have enjoyed multiple successes in world championship racing, will start their bid for MX2 glory before taking on the MXGP class in 2025.
